Moon Jars

After visiting a demonstration of Japanese Tea Ceremony at British Museum, which was great and insightful, I went to wonder around the Japanese and Chinese galleries. In the Chinese ceramics gallery I found a couple of moon jars. One was  from From Korea (Choson dynasty, 17th-18th century AD)  and another was by Adam Buick. This is one of my favourite shapes.

I was actually embracing my favourite shapes recently (you could say that) trying out some Raku techniques. It is a shame, though, that I could not fire my pieces before the end of the year at college. Now I have them glazed and unfired for two months on the shelf.
